Swampscott Evening, Overnight Lane Closures, Detour Planned For Paradise Road
The closures will occur northbound and southbound from Vinnin Street to Burrill Street.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents and visitors can expect to encounter some lane closures on Paradise Road over the next two weeks as the state Department of Transportation performs milling work on the road.
MassDOT said on Tuesday that the closures are scheduled to happen evenings and overnight starting at 7 p.m. on Paradise Road both northbound and southbound from Vinnin Street to Burrill Street.
They are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. this Friday night (May 19) into Saturday morning, and then again on May 23 through the morning of May 24.

One travel lane will remain open northbound at all times with southbound traffic detoured right onto Vinnin Street, left on Essex Street, left on Burrill Street, and then back onto Paradise Street.
Police details will be used to direct traffic on Route 1 and the affected intersections and there will be signage during the work operations.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
The work is being conducted as part of a $1.3 million project intersection improvement and to perform related work along Route 1A Paradise Road at Swampscott Mall Road.
