Swampscott Power Outage Puts Residents, Businesses In Dark Tuesday

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — National Grid crews worked to restore electricity to a large swath of Swampscott on Tuesday afternoon after a power outage around noon left the entire length of Paradise Road in the dark.

Officials said there were also reports of power being out in the area of Pine Street at about 1 p.m.

Crews were still working on pockets of outages as of about 2:30 p.m.

"National Grid Electric is working on the restoration of power to those areas," officials said at that time. "We have learned that National Grid crews in other communities have cut power and similar outages have resulted."
