Swampscott Schools Closed Friday With Icy Forecast
Swampscott Public Schools are closed Friday "due to treacherous conditions and for the safety of all."
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott Public Schools are closed Friday because of the latest winter storm.
"Due to the predicted treacherous conditions and for the safety of all, there will be no school tomorrow in Swampscott and all buildings will be closed," the district said Thursday night. "Stay safe."
The National Weather Service forecast for the Boston area Friday calls for freezing rain before 9 a.m., then freezing rain and sleet between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., then sleet after 10 a.m.

The temperature will fall to around 21 degrees at 4 p.m.
The chance of precipitation is 100 percent with sleet accumulation of up to one inch.
