Swampscott Senior Center To Host First 'Repair Cafe'

The clinic is designed to help residents repair broken items for reuse rather than throwing them away.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott is the latest community on the North Shore to offer a "Repair Cafe" aimed at helping residents fix broken items for reuse rather than throwing them out and buying new models.

The town's first Repair Cafe will be at the Senior Center on Essex Street behind Swampscott High School on Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Repair volunteers will be available to mend clothing, sew buttons, tinker with and rewire small appliances and tools, repair stringed instruments, and help diagnose electronic devices.
