Swampscott's Anchor Food Pantry Seeks Donations Amid Shortage

The food pantry said it is short on supplies ahead of its next bulk delivery from the Greater Boston Food Bank.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott's Anchor Food Pantry is seeking additional donations this month as it awaits its next bulk food delivery from the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Items of need include pasta, cereal, breakfast/granola bars, rice and oatmeal.

Donations are accepted at Town Hall in the first-floor bin and at the 86 Burrill Street location on Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m. and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

*Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations.
