TEWKSBURY, MA — The members-only giving circle 100+ People Who Care Tewksbury will hold its first Giving Event of 2023 on Monday, the organization has announced.

The event will start at 6 p.m. at Luna Rossa, 1699 Shawsheen St. After a social hour, the program will begin at 7 p.m. Interested residents are invited to attend, with no obligation to join or donate.

When the program begins, representatives from three nonprofits will make their case for the Impact Grant to the members of 100+ People Who Care Tewksbury. The members of the giving circle then will vote for one of the nonprofits to receive the grant of $10,000 or more.

The two nonprofits not selected will receive $250, which will be donated by event sponsors Dance Expressions and Eco Auto. These nonprofits also could receive additional funding from the giving circle's members.

"With collective giving, we create a much bigger impact than an individual can," Brent Conway, chair of 100+ People Who Care Tewksbury said last year. "If you give a local group $100, that helps. If you nominate a local group and it receives $10,000 or more, that provides an opportunity for material change."

The three nonprofits scheduled to present are:

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue: The Chelmsford-based rehabilitation center, which serves the Merrimack Valley, is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to injured or orphaned wildlife.

Newhouse also educates the public about how to coexist with the wildlife around them. The organization's goal is to help animals, raise awareness and inspire kindness in others.

Tewksbury Community Pantry: Established in 1995, the pantry provides short and long-term food assistance to Tewksbury residents in financial need. The pantry also takes referrals from local clergy and the Town Clerk's office.

According to the organization, the pantry's board members and volunteers fiercely advocate for the needs of those experiencing food insecurity.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School Theater Company: The company puts on three productions each school year: the fall play, winter production and spring musical.

The company is led by an artistic/musical director and a technical director and, according to the organization, "enthusiastically welcomes all students at TMHS to join them in bringing theater to life."
