3 Charged In Major Fentanyl Bust, Tewksbury Police Say

Three men are facing charges that they dealt fentanyl in Tewksbury, according to police.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Three men were arrested and charged in a fentanyl-dealing case in Tewksbury, according to a police statement.

The department's Narcotics Unit made the arrests following a lengthy investigation involving several state and local law enforcement agencies.

Police found about 40 grams of fentanyl and $1,850 in cash Tuesday. Throughout the investigation, police said they seized about 200 grams of fentanyl.

Jairol Munoz-Mateo, 37, of Salem, was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl.

Wandy Urbaez, 22, of Dorchester, was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl and six counts of trafficking fentanyl.

Raidor Lugo Aybar, 32, of Lawrence, was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of fentanyl, three counts of trafficking fentanyl, and distribution of a class A substance.

All three were arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday and held on $100,000 cash bail.

Munoz-Mateo was also wanted on an immigration detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which was notified of his arrest.

"I want to thank our law enforcement partners in Billerica, Chelmsford, and Tyngsborough, as well as the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office and the State Police CINRET team,” Police Chief Ryan Columbus said in a statement. “Drug distributors do not stop at town lines, and collaborative efforts to stop them help us get results. We are deeply appreciative of the support.”
