4th Annual Tewksbury Overdose Vigil Sunday

The vigil will take place on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Tewksbury State Hospital Campus located at 365 East St. starting at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday kicks off Tewksbury’s Substance Use Prevention and Education Week to help raise public awareness as Tewksbury continues to face and fight the increasing indiscriminate substance abuse epidemic within the community.

Since Jan. 1, Tewksbury has seen 56 overdoses and seven related deaths and officials are working together to raise public awareness as a crucial weapon in this battle.

On Sunday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m., a Candlelight Vigil will be hosted by Lahey Behavioral Health and the Tewksbury Police Department in remembrance of those who’ve died as a result of drug addiction, as well as for those loved ones who are in recovery and mourning.

The vigil will take place at the Tewksbury State Hospital Campus located at 365 East St. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to all. It begins at 6:30 p.m. with the name signing of lost love ones lost to addiction before the actual event begins at 7 p.m.
