5 Things You Need To Know Today: Aug. 18

It's Thursday and before you leave for work, here are 5 things you should know:

1. Weather -- Will remain nice today with highs in the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. 

2. Car Wash -- Car looking dirty? TheSoccer team will hold a car wash at the this Saturday starting at 9 a.m. For a $5 donation your car will look as good as new. There is also a chance to win Red Sox tickets. 

3. Create -- Bring the kids to Dip N' Clay at . The class will be geared toward making an animal bank and coil for collections. Price is $27 with a snack included. The class runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

4. Craft -- will be held at the library at 10:30 a.m. Today's participants will make a sun necklace. This class is free and open to all. 

5. History Lesson -- On this day, after 13 years with the Celtics, Larry Bird retired in 1992.
