8th Annual TGBL Food Drive a Great Success

Drive collects 865 food items and $415.64.

Throughout the day on Saturday, Jan. 15 the 24 , 2 Clinic Teams, their families and coaches, brought food and cash donations to the lobby of the TMHS Gym.  And after the last team had played, and the last dollar donated, the League had collected 865 food items and $415.64 which was donated directly to the .

For the first time, all teams contributed to the drive. As in previous years, there was a little competition to assist the teams in donating--A prize to the team who donated the most!  Charts posted on the walls detailed the progress of each team along the way.  The Winner---The JAYHAWKS with a total of 224.  They started their day with a donation of 95 items which really helped to put them over the top.  The Jayhawks will be treated to a PIZZA PARTY for their outstanding team effort.  Other high donating teams included the Clinics 128, Magic 103, Cardinals 102, Terriers 88, and the Wolverines 87

The items are so necessary to replenish the supplies at the Pantry after the holidays. And the monetary contributions are essential to provide perishables (fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables) and other items not provided by the pantry to our neighbors in need.

We want to thank everyone who organized the day, made donations, collected items and assisted with the separation and storing of the items at the Pantry.  See you all next year!
