Stretch Energy Code Community Development Meeting
7 p.m. Town Hall Auditorium
This meeting will be somewhat of a continuation of the Green Committee meeting with Community Development Director Steve Sadwick moderating an explanation and discussion of the proposed Stretch Energy Code, which is up for a vote at the October Special Town Meeting. This is a best chance for anyone with questions about the code to ask them of town leaders.
The Stretch Energy Code is one of five criteria for designation as a Green Community which would allow for Tewksbury to apply for energy conservation grants.
Tuesday, Sept. 21
Recycling Committee
6:30 p.m., Public Library Meeting Room
Among the items on the agenda for this meeting is the Tewksbury Youth Soccer League Recycling Program.
Also being discussed will be a recap of Zero Waste Day, the Got Books program, publicity and the web site.
Wednesday, Sept. 22
Tri-Town Development Meeting
7 p.m., Tewksbury Senior Center
This promises to be an emotional meeting, as the planning boards from Tewksbury, Andover and Wilmington gather to discuss the proposed Tri-Town Development and the Simon Property off I-93.
The progress on the form based codes will be discussed, as well as the market study. However, the critical discussion will be between the planning boards and the various stakeholders in the project.
Residents of the South Street neighborhood in Tewksbury have voiced strong concerns about the project and its impact on their area of town. Specifically, they don't want local access of a proposed I-93 interchange.
Board of Selectmen
7:30 p.m. Town Hall Auditorium
This meeting had been postponed from Sept. 21 due to a scheduling conflict.
A review of the articles on the Special Town Meeting Warrant tops the agenda for the Selectmen's meeting this week. Two of those articles will be the acceptance of Shawsheen Avenue and Birchwood Road as public ways, both of which are up for public hearings at this meeting.
A third public hearing will be regarding the permit request for the traffic light pole at the intersection of East and Livingston Streets.
Also on the agenda will be a request to submit a grant application to the Massachusetts School Building Authority Green Repair Program for new energy efficient windows for the Center School Building. This building houses a pre-school, as well as the school district administration offices.
