Dressbarn to Host Bone Marrow Registration Today
Event being hosted in the name of Aimee Bernard, local woman battling leukemia.

in Tewksbury is partnering with Be The Match, the National Marrow Donor Program Registry, for a one day drive to register bone marrow donors in honor of a local woman who is currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Amiee Bernard is a 29-year-old single mom who has been fighting AML for over two years. Treatments put her disease into remission and last summer she joined a roller derby team and a woman's softball team. Her son Ayden learned the make and model of every car on the road – even without seeing the front or back of the car. But Amiee suffered a relapse in November, 2010, and now a bone marrow transplant is her best hope for successful treatment.
"Many of us make New Year's resolutions and then break them a couple of weeks into January," says Jessie DeJackome of Dressbarn in Tewksbury. "But for those fighting life-threatening diseases like cancer, some resolutions - 'I will survive' or 'I will live to see my son graduate' - can be even harder to keep, especially without help."
