According to the Tewksbury PD, officers on their way to the scene received a report about a black SUV driving erratically in the area where the alleged break-in took place.

Police said that after an investigation, they determined that after fleeing the River Road home, the suspect, later identified as Moges, had gotten into a Honda CRV and attempted to run over a woman on Mount Joy Drive.

Moges had driven through a yard in an attempt to strike the woman, but the woman had been able to get out of the way, according to the department.

The suspect then continued to drive through the yard, allegedly striking another woman in the leg, the Tewksbury PD said. The vehicle then struck a rock wall before exiting the yard, the department said.

According to authorities, the second woman was treated at the scene for her injuries.

Police said they were able to identify Moges as the driver of the SUV. The Tewksbury PD said it worked with the Everett PD to locate Moges at his Everett home, where he was taken into custody.

"We are thankful that no one was seriously injured during this incident," Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus said. "I am grateful for our officers who responded quickly, conducted a thorough investigation, and promptly made an arrest."
