Free Showing of 'If Only' Thursday, Oct. 1

The documentary about the opioid epidemic filmed in Tewksbury was created with families from the Merrimack Valley.

The Greater Lowell Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Lowell and Tewksbury) and the Lawrence Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (Andover, Haverhill, Lawrence, and Methuen) are co-sponsoring the free showing of the opioid epidemic documentary “If Only” which was created with families from the Merrimack Valley.

It is a must see for parents with children in high school and college.

The film was produced by Jim Wahlberg, actor Mark Wahlberg’s brother and is about two teenage boys who experiment with and ultimately become addicted to drugs and their parents’ very different responses. The movie was filmed in Tewksbury and debuted last spring.

The free showing, courtesy of Showcase Cinemas Lawrence, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Showcase Cinemas Lawrence located at 6 Chickering Road in Lawrence.
