Library to Host Two Children's Safety Events
Online safety program to take place Monday.

is partnering with the Tewksbury Police Department to provide free monthly classes to residents. Each class will deal with a different aspect of “safety.” The first two classes in the series will be of particular interest to parents.
On Monday, February 14 at 6:30pm, join Paula Fleming – a representative from the Better Business Bureau – for an eye-opening discussion on online safety for children. You will receive tips on how to be aware of what your children are doing online, what the risks include and what you can do to keep them safe. The Better Business Bureau is a non-profit public service organization which provides free business BBB Reliability Reports, BBB Charity Reports, and other valuable information to the public. With more than 407,000 Accredited Businesses and more than 128 offices in North America, BBB is one of the largest business member supported public organizations in the world.
On Monday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m., join Sandra Libby – playground safety expert, Billerica’s playground coordinator, and author of “Hey! Let’s Play!: A Book About Playground Safety” – for a fun evening of playground safety. Children will listen to an animated and enthusiastic reading of Sandra’s book, which is endorsed by the National Program for Playground Safety. Parents and children will be then be asked safety questions and will be given the opportunity to ask their own. Ten different easy-to-follow safety tips will be presented and children will be asked to help with demonstrations. Following the program, Sandra’s book will be available for $10.

Doors open at 6:15pm. The class begins at 6:30pm. Registration is strongly recommended as it aids the presenter and library staff in planning.
