Malden Man Arrested for Allegedly Beating Woman in Front of Wal-Mart

An arrest does not indicate a conviction in these excerpts from the Tewksbury Police Department.

A Malden man was arrested on Monday after allegedly beating a woman in front of Wal-Mart.

According to the Tewksbury Police log, several onlookers called 911 at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, to report a man hitting a woman in front of the store.

Multiple officers responded to the scene. In addition, an ambulance arrived and transported the woman to Saints Medical Center.

Following the incident, police arrested Craig Lee West Jr., 28, of 22 Charles Street, Malden.

West was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery, and disorderly conduct.
