Man Injured In Fall From Horse-Drawn Carriage In Tewksbury

A 74-year-old man was flown to Lahey Hospital after a fall from a carriage at Tewksbury's Krochmal Farms.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A 74-year-old man was injured in a fall from a horse-drawn carriage at Tewksbury's Krochmal Farms Monday, the fire department confirmed.

Police and firefighters responded to the South Street farm around 1 p.m. Monday for the reported fall.

Crews found the 74-year-old lying on the ground "with a possible traumatic spinal cord injury," Fire Chief Joseph Kearns said.

The man was taken by ambulance to Tewksbury Country Club, where a delight helicopter landed. The helicopter took the patient to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
