TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's new elementary school will be named the Center Elementary School, after a recent vote by the School Committee.

The committee voted Oct. 13 to adopt a variation on the name of the old Center School, which will be torn down for parking for the new school.

Committee members suggested that aspects of the school — gyms, cafeterias, rooms — could be named after people and other suggestions. But they liked the idea of keeping the legacy of the old school, as well as marking the school's location.
