One Killed In Wednesday Night Lowell Shooting

A 20-year-old man was killed in a shooting around Loring Street and Westford Street Wednesday night.

LOWELL, MA — Officials are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night in Lowell, officials confirmed Thursday.

At 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, Lowell police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired around Loring Street and Westford Street, according to a news release from the police and the Middlesex district attorney.

Officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's name has not been released, pending notification of his next of kin.

The shooting is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Massachusetts state police and Lowell police.
