Police Put Out 'Code Red' For Help Finding Burglary Suspect

issued a Tuesday afternoon, asking for the public 's help tracking down a burglary suspect.

At about 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, two officers were dispatched to a home on Cayuga Road for a report of a suspicious person on the property. When the officers arrived, they spotted a man in his late 30s wearing a green hooded sweatshirt.

When the man saw the officers, he ran behind a neighboring house and dropped out of sight. Officers searched for the man and brought in the K9 unit to assist but they could not locate the suspect.

Additional incidents:

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 4:14 p.m., a Livingston Street resident called police to report that there was a baby deer on her property. She wasn't sure if the fawn might be injured. Officers responded to the scene. They discovered that the "baby deer" was a ceramic statue.

On Sept. 4 at 12:14 a.m., the DPW was called in to respond to a water main break at the intersection of East and Carter Streets.

On Sept. 4 at 9:01 p.m., a 911 caller from Melrose Avenue reported that a tree had come down on top of their vehicles. In doing so it had torn down some power lines, which caused the lights in their home to get brighter. Officers responded to the scene and National Grid was notified. Exact damage amounts were not immediately available.
