Power Restored After Downed Utility Line Sparks Tewksbury Fire

National Grid restored power to the area early Tuesday morning.

TUESDAY, MA — Power has been restored to more than 2,000 homes and businesses in Tewksbury after a downed electrical wire sparked a fire late Monday night.

According to the Tewksbury Police Department, Main Street closed to all traffic between Pleasant Street and Summer Street due to the downed wires on fire.

Power was out in the area for several hours, police said.

It was not immediately known what caused the spark or if there were any injuries.
