See The New Tewksbury Precincts, State House Districts

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury will have slightly different voting precincts and an additional state representative going forward due to reprecincting and redistricting in the wake of the 2020 census.

Following each census, new maps are drawn to adjust for changing populations. Tewksbury’s population grew by 2,381 people from 2010 to 2020, resulting in 31,342 residents in the 2020 census.

The town shared finalized maps Monday showing the new precinct boundaries and legislative districts.

There was no change to the town's state Senate or U.S. House district, but new lines were drawn for voting precincts and the state House.

The town's eight precincts have been renumbered 1-8, rather than 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4 and 4A. The boundaries have shifted slightly, as shown on this map.

The precincts will vote at the following locations:

• 1 & 2: Senior Center, 175 Chandler St.
• 3 & 4: Recreation Center, 286 Livingston St.
• 5 & 6: Town Hall, 1009 Main St.
• 7 & 8: Library, 300 Chandler St.

The biggest change for Tewksbury is the state House map, which drew criticism from town officials. The town is now part of three districts:

• 19th Middlesex (currently state Rep. David Robertson): Precincts 2, 4, 6, 8 and the majority of 5.
• 18th Essex (currently state Rep. Tram Nguyen): Precincts 3, 7 and the northern portion of 5
• 17th Middlesex (currently state Rep. Vanna Howard): Precinct 1

Tewksbury remains in the Second Essex & Middlesex District state Senate district, currently represented by state Sen. Barry Finegold, and the 6th Congressional District, currently represented by U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton.
