
A 911 call led police to investigate an unusual domestic disturbance on Friday.
The call came in around 10:04 p.m. with the caller reporting that his brother, who may be intoxicated, had just left the house driving a Dodge Stratis.
Officers responded to the home at 18 Euclid St. and, after an investigation, removed firearms belonging to one of the male residents of the home, as the person's FID card had expired.

In the meantime, the brother that had left the house showed up at Police Headquarters on Main Street to complain that his brother and sister had changed the locks, effectively locking him out of a home that the the trio shared ownership in.
Charges were not filed ... a report was.

Road hazard reported
At around 5:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a telephone pole leaning into the street at the intersection of Willow and Bond Streets. A lieutenant who responded to the scene described the pole as rotting. National Grid was notified and replacement of the pole was scheduled.
Dog struck by vehicle
Just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, an officer was flagged down and was told that a dog had been struck by a vehicle at 833 Livingston St., near Pinnacle Street. The officer reported that the driver of the vehicle did pull over after having struck the animal and that the dog was being brought to the vet by its owner.
Details of the law explained to young men
Officers responded 913 South St. after a 911 hangup call from that address. The caller reported seeing three young men wearing hoodies, who appeared to be place firecrackers in mailboxes. Officers were able to locate the young men. When asked about the incidents, they denied placing firecrackers in mailboxes.
An officer took a moment to explain the full ramifications and consequences if they did, in fact, do those things and sent them on their way.
Fire snuffed out
Just after 10 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a fire burning in the woods behind the Knights of Columbus at 2068 Main St. Officers and a fire unit responded to the scene and the fire was extinguished.

George Redding, 29, of 42 Marshall St., Lowell, charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, giving a false name to a police officer, and an outstanding warrant.
Sunday, Oct. 31, 4:25 p.m.
Bridgett Giuffre, 45, of 98 Beech St., charged with assault and battery.
