Students Learn the Dangers of Impaired and Distracted Driving with Mock Crash Scenario

On April 28, Tewksbury Memorial High School students, in cooperation with the Tewksbury Police and Fire Departments, Lowell General Hospital Paramedics, and the Boston MedFlight Safe Teen Program created a dramatic reenactment of a fatal car crash for Tewksbury teenagers. The Mock Crash realistically simulated an actual full light and siren response from first responders and an air medical evacuation from Boston MedFlight.

This event cast a very serious light on the danger of distracted driving and driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The students gained a valuable, often not shown, perspective of the serious consequences of dangerous, illegal, and sometimes deadly behavior.

This event was made possible by the commitment and collaboration of the Tewksbury Memorial High School staff and students, (especially the S.A.D.D Program & Drama Club), the Tewksbury Police and Fire Department, Lowell General Hospital Paramedics, and the Boston MedFlight Safe Teen Program.
