Suspicious Activity Leads to Drug Bust
Alleged drunken driver strikes light pole at Oakdale Plaza

Maybe they looked suspicious because they were the only two guys in town NOT holding political signs
Police arrested a Wakefield man on drug charges Tuesday after an officer noticed two men acting suspiciously in the parking lot of Gold's Gym on Main Street Tuesday at around 11 a.m..
When approached by police, one of the men entered the gym but was told to leave the building by one of the officers. After a brief investigation, police arrested Shawn D. Pacheco, 135 Parker Road in Wakefield. Pacheco is charged with two counts of possession of a Class C substance and one count of receiving stolen property with a value less than $250.

Not just playing possum
Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, a resident of Pinnacle Street called to report an opossum had been released in front of a home. The caller reported seeing an older male driving an older brown and white pickup truck. The man got out of the truck and let an opossum loose in front of the house before leaving. Officers responded to the scene, but could find neither critter nor driver.

A good deed, indeed
At around 10:30 Wednesday, a person calling the police station from Market Basket reported that two wallets had been found at the store. An officer went by the store, picked up the wallets and returned them to their respective owners on Shawsheen Street and Livingston Street.
Not too hard to track down
At around noon on Tuesday, a 911 caller reported seeing a blue van strike a light pole and then take off. The pole turned out to be in the parking lot of Oakdale Plaza. The witness described seeing "J and J Heating, Dracut" on the side of the van. Officers called the company and got contact information for the operator of the van. The operator was contacted and he returned to the scene to talk to police.
After a brief investigation, Michael St. Pierre of 78 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, was arrested on a variety of charges, including leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving with a suspended license, subsequent offense, and OUI-liquor, second offense.
