Tewksbury Man Accused Of Aggravated Rape, Kidnapping

Marcello Lomagno, 32, of Tewksbury, is accused of threatening to kill the woman, who did not know him.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Prosecutors say a Tewksbury man pulled a gun on a woman on Merrimack Street in Lowell in February and said he would kill her if she did not go with him when she tried to walk away. Marcello Lomagno, 32, of Tewksbury, has been held without bail since he was arrested on April 1. He is due back in court Aug. 20.

Lomagno was charged with aggravated rape, kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, indecent assault and battery, and witness intimidation. According to court documents, Lomagno tried to talk with the woman before drawing the gun. The victim, who was sexually assaulted, was able to identify Lomagno from a photo array. Police also recovered video surveillance that show the victim and Lomagno on Merrimack Street.
