TEWKSBURY, MA — A Tewksbury man was arrested last Wednesday after police were called to the Market Basket on Main Street in Tewksbury for a report of credit card fraud. As police conducted the fraud investigation, they were told a person was taking photos and videos of children in the store. Police arrested and charged David Cronin, 49, of 55 Pratt Street in Tewksbury, with possession of child pornography.

Police identified Cronin as the person taking photos and videos. In a news release, Tewksbury police said "officers determined...Cronin was in possession of multiple photographs depicting child pornography." It's not clear if the images were physical photographs or digital files store on a smart phone or another device.

Cronin, who works as a delivery driver for a Tewksbury Chinese food restaurant, was held on $5,000 bail and arraigned last Thursday in Lowell District Court. Following his arraignment, he was released on personal recognizance and ordered not to have contact with children. He is due back in court on Sept. 5.
