Tewksbury Man Charged With Home Invasion, Beating

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Tewksbury man is facing felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Court Street home Thursday morning and severely beating the man who lived there.

Mark N. Donnay, 32, of 8 Michael St., is charged with assault and battery with severe bodily injury and breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony.

Just before noon on Thursday, Sept. 6, received a 911 call from a Court Street resident. The male caller reported that a man had entered his house and assaulted him. Several officers and an ambulance were sent to the scene. The victim was transported to Saints Medical Center in Lowell for treatment of his injuries.

By the time officers had arrived at the home, Donnay had left the scene.

In an odd twist, Donnay then showed up at Police Headquarters at 6:09 p.m. and asked to speak to an officer. He was placed under arrest.

On Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6:17 a.m., police received a call from the clerk at the The clerk said that a man had been in the store and had been trying to open a locked cooler and get some beer. After a brief argument, the clerk said the man still wanted to take the beer. The clerk allegedly told the man it was too early for the store to sell beer but according to the clerk, the man took two beers and left the store without paying for them.

Officers responded to the scene, located the suspect and issued a criminal summons. The name of the suspect was not published in the public log.

Additional Arrests:

Robert J. Anderson, 31, 17 Rose Farm Lane, Woburn, was arrested on Sept. 8 and charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

Sean O'Neil, 46, 450 Main St. #235, Tewksbury, was arrested on Sept. 7 and charged with assault and battery.

Additional Incidents:

On Thursday, Sept. 6, at 4:33 p.m., a man called police and reported that someone had come into his metal shop attempting to turn in carts from , and . The caller said this person claimed that the manager of the had given him permission to take the carts. A report was filed.

Omn Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10:42 p.m., a Pace Road resident called police and reported that while he and his wife were in the backyard, someone broke into their home and stole some items. A report was filed.
