Tewksbury Police Arrest 2, Seize 3 Pounds Of Marijuana

A Salem, New Hampshire man and Lowell woman were arrested after police said they saw a drug deal near the Holiday Inn on Highwood Drive.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested two people Monday and seized over three pounds of marijuana and $16,000, the department said Tuesday.

Tewksbury detectives saw an apparent drug transaction near the Holiday Inn at 4 Highwood Drive, according to the police narrative. Following an investigation, they arrested a Salem, New Hampshire man and a Lowell woman.

Amadeus Torres, 23, of Salem was charged with possession with intent to distribute 1,069 grams of marijuana as well as driving violations.

Michaela Thellen, 19, of Lowell was charged with possession with the intent to distribute 353 grams of marijuana.

Both were arraigned at Lowell District Court, Tuesday.

All people are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
