Tewksbury Police Increase Presence At Schools After Texas Shooting

In response to the Uvalde school shooting, Tewksbury Police have increased their presence at all schools to help the community feel safe.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Police will provide increased officer presence at all Tewksbury schools to help ease the fears of students, staff and families in response to the Texas elementary school shooting that claimed the lives of at least 19 students and two teachers on Tuesday.

"Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with all those who are suffering from this senseless tragedy," said Tewksbury Police in a social media post. "It just doesn’t make any sense. These kids didn’t deserve this."

The Tewksbury Police Department also brought their K-9 unit, Officer Waffles, to all the community schools to help comfort students and staff after the devastating tragedy.
