Tewksbury Police Investigating Main Street Bank Robbery
No one was injured in the unarmed robbery, police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A bank on Tewksbury's Main Street was robbed Monday afternoon, Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus said.
Around 1:25 p.m. Monday, police were called to the Salem Five Bank, 2171, for a reported unarmed robbery.
Police believe a suspect entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash. There were no injuries reported.

The Trahan Elementary School was temporarily locked down due to its proximity to the bank. A police officer was stationed at the school.
The suspect was described as an approximately 40-year-old man wearing a black jacket, gray baseball hat, glasses and surgical mask. He was last seen fleeing on foot on Main Street, near March Street.

Police and police dogs searched the area around the bank but did not find the suspect.
