Tewksbury Library To Close for Carpet Installation Next Month

The Tewksbury Public Library will be closed for upgrades from June 5 to June 8. No library items will be due during this period.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Starting Sunday, June 5, the Tewksbury Public Library will undergo a new carpet installation for the first floor of the building.

The new carpeting will be installed throughout publicly accessible areas, including the main entrance, Children's Room, Teen Room, and DVD/Magazine Area. In addition, staff areas, including staff workspaces and offices on the first floor, will also undergo the installation process.

The library will be closed from Sunday, June 5, through Wednesday, June 8. There are no fines on library items, and no borrowed items will be due during this time. The library's book drop will be open during this time. Patrons are welcome to hold on to library materials until the library reopens on Thursday, June 9.

While specific library areas undergo installation, these spaces will also be closed: The Children's Room, closed from Thursday, June 9, through Monday, June 13. Also, the teen Room & DVD/Magazine Area are closed from Tuesday, June 14 through Thursday, June 16. The above areas are closed for work to be conducted safely, library items will not be accessible by staff or patrons.

Following the conclusion of installation work at 3 p.m. From June 9 through June 16, staff can retrieve library materials from closed areas. For updates throughout the project, please visit the library's website at tewksburypl.org and connect with the library on social media @TewksburyLib.
