Tewksbury Reports 168 Active Coronavirus Cases, 16 Probables
The town remained moderate-risk in the most recent state update, but its positive test rate inched up to 4.48 percent.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury reported 184 confirmed and probable active coronavirus cases Monday, the most since the State Hospital outbreak in June.
This time, most of the cases are in the community, with just 12 at the hospital and none at the town's nursing homes and other facilities. The location of one case is unknown.
As of Friday, there were 155 confirmed cases and 16 probable cases in the community, the town reported Monday. That brings the total case count since the virus arrived in town to 1,113.

Probable cases are those:
- "Meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19
- Meeting presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence.
- Meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID19"
The town was designated moderate-risk by the state Friday, thanks to a positive test rate under 5 percent. But the test rate inched up to 4.48, from 3.48 a week prior.

Eighty-three residents have died of the virus.
