Tewksbury Reports Over 100 Confirmed, Probable Coronavirus Cases
The town's case count has not been in three digits since July, when there was an outbreak at the State Hospital.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury has over 100 confirmed and probable active coronavirus cases, the town said Friday. Tewksbury has not had more than 100 cases since July, when the State Hospital had an outbreak.
The town has 89 confirmed cases and 16 probable cases. Probable cases meet the following criteria:
- "Meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19
- Meeting presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence.
- Meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID19."
One case is in an unknown location, while the other 104 are community cases. There are no known active cases in the State Hospital or other communal living institutions.

When the town's caseload fell below 100 in July, there were dozens of cases at the hospital and other institutions.
