Tewksbury Residents Approve Funding for Additional Town Hall Renovations

Annual Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting each came to a close this week.

A new look for Town Hall is underway. And thanks to a vote earlier this week at Town Meeting, the budget for the face lift is a bit higher.

During a Special Town Meeting vote on Wednesday night, residents approved $1.4 million to cover increasing costs as the town continues the Town Hall renovation project that was originally approved for $6.1 million in 2010.

The Lowell Sun reported that there was little discussion on the article during Town Meeting as residents approved the appropriation from Community Preservation Funds.

Several other items were taken up on Wednesday night as Special Town Meeting addressed zoning changes, two replacement fire engines, and sick leave buyback, according to The Sun.
