Tewksbury School Committee To Discuss Reopening Wednesday
The district recently surveyed parents on masks and learning loss ahead of the new school year.
TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury School Committee will discuss reopening plans for the district Wednesday, days after Gov. Charlie Baker reiterated that he would not set mask policy for schools.
The committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday following a School Committee and Administrator Workshop at 3.
The Tewksbury school district recently surveyed parents about their views on universal masking for the coming school year, as districts around the state make decisions on how to reopen in the fall.

The state is requiring districts to reopen with full-time in-person learning models, but so far has left specifics up to districts.
With the recent surge of the delta variant of the coronavirus, some districts have already opted to require indoor masking for the coming year. The state "strongly recommended" indoor masking for unvaccinated students and staff but Baker said Monday he is not considering a new mandate.
