
WALTHAM, MA — A 21-year-old Waltham man was shot in the leg last night in Watertown, and now police are asking anyone with information about it, to come forward.
Watertown police said the man was taken to Beth Israel hospital and is expected to survive.
“Police are still investigating the incident,” Watertown Police said in a statement. “We are confident that [this] is not a random act. All involved are acquaintances.”

Someone called police just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to report a fight happening near 602 Pleasant St. When officers arrived, they didn't find a fight, but they did find a drunk man in an alley and placed him into protective custody, according to a statement.
About 45 minutes later, police said they got another 911 call, this time from an employee at a business nearby who reported that a man had walked in with noticeable injury.

It turned out to be a 21-year-old Waltham man nursing a gunshot wound to his left lower leg, police said. Police did not release his name. No arrests have been made.
