Hal Tovin, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Belmont Savings Bank, pointed to the program as a unique product that offers an equal benefit to both customers and businesses.

“The difference between our Local Rewards debit card program and others is the instant nature of the discounts. Our program gives our customers immediate discounts at participating local retailers, restaurants and businesses, without the usual ‘gotcha’ qualifiers, such as having to wait for cash back to arrive in the mail or a complicated points program,” said Tovin.  “At the same time, we can help keep people shopping locally and positively impact local businesses and our community.”

The Belmont Savings Local Rewards Debit Card Program represents the latest a, new and unique program in the marketplace. It benefits the bank’s customers in this difficult economic environment and reaffirms the Bank’s focus on partnering with the local businesses within their footprint.

“Just like with our Belmont Education Rewards and Watertown Education Rewards, the emphasis is on working within our community because residents know there will be an immediate benefit when they bank with us, and in this case with the businesses they see on a daily basis,” added Tovin.
