In response to the rapidly increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases, as well as the emerging Omicron Variant, effective on December 30th, 2021, the Waltham Board of Health STRONGLY advises all persons (regardless of vaccination status) wear a mask at all times when in indoor public spaces in the City of Waltham. This advisory is in conjunction with the Governor's Mask Advisory that was issued on December 21, 2021.

The Waltham Board of Health voted back in November to adopt a Public Health Mask Advisory ONLY when the positivity rate hits at or above 2% for two consecutive weeks. As of December 23rd, our percent positivity was at 2.89% and climbing. The advisory will remain in effect through the next Board of Health meeting where they will re-evaluate at that time.
