Big Help for Local Waltham Group

REACH Beyond Domestic Violence assists local victims of domestic violence.

Rockland Trust bank has donated $10,000 to Waltham-based REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, an organization that assists domestic violence victims, according to a press release.

The grant will help REACH's programs and its 2012 Annual Star Gala on Oct. 18. The gala will have attendees bidding on various gifts such as trips to local restaurants, art and travel packages. Diane Patrick, the wife of Gov. Deval Patrick, will attend.

“The goal of our program and gala is to build healthy communities by speaking up and speaking out against domestic and dating violence,” said REACH Executive Director Laura Van Zandt. “We rely on the support of organizations such as Rockland Trust to continue our mission.”
