WALTHAM, MA — The following was submitted as a letter to the editor, open letter by candidate for city council, Paul Tracey:

Dear Residents of Ward 3,
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for your trust and support this past election cycle. I have embraced the opportunity to have met so many residents while going door to door and understand that many of us have similar concerns. I am especially thankful that I was able to bring my family along with me as we walked and talked to many friends and neighbors throughout North Waltham. While educating my children during the way, Danika (10) and Tyler (9) were able to experience first hand the election process and the democratic system. A personal Thank You to Janet Williams and Barbara Compton for their advice and direction. I am truly grateful to those that supported my campaign whether it be allowing signs on their lawns, providing financial support and most especially holding campaign signs on the cold, rainy election day. Thank you!
There is still plenty of work to be done in Ward 3 as well as the City of Waltham. I will continue to take an active part in bettering our community as I still see room for improvement. I will continue to challenge ward councilors regarding citizens concerns about the sidewalks, utility work on the private and public ways and the future plans for the Fernald, amongst many other.
Please don't hesitate to reach out should you encounter or experience the bureaucratic roadblocks that often occur. I will definitely contact you back.
Respectfully,
Paul J Tracey, Sherbourne Pl
