Scam Alert: Waltham Police Warn Residents About Fake Calls

"The Waltham Police Department will never call and demand money to prevent an arrest [or] clear a warrant up," police said.

WALTHAM, MA — If you get a call from the Waltham Police Department and someone demands you give them money or a gift card in order to prevent an arrest or to clear up a warrant, do not believe them. It's a scam, say Waltham Police officers.

After several people reported receiving scam calls from 781-296-8151 with Waltham Police Department Police showing up in the caller ID, police are warning residents not to believe it.

"The Waltham Police Department will never call and demand money to prevent an arrest, clear a warrant up," police posted to social media.
