Should the Fine For Littering Be Increased in Waltham?

Anybody who walks down Moody Street will notice what some would call a “dirty” sidewalk strewn with new or old litter. 

While many American cities struggle with litter on sidewalks, there are possible solutions, including increasing the fee for littering in public.

Currently, the fine for littering is $50 or the first offense and $100 for the second violation, according to city ordinances.

Should the fine for littering in public be increased? Should there be a special, higher fine for littering on Moody Street?
