Sobriety Checkpoint Set For Saturday - Sunday in Middlesex County

The Massachusetts State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint this weekend somewhere in Middlesex County.

Massachusetts State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Middlesex County on Saturday, April 6 and into Sunday, April 7.

Police will conduct the car checkpoint somewhere in Middlesex County, which includes Waltham. Police, however, do not announce the exact location of the checkpoint. 

"The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways.  It will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety," State Police said in a statement.
