Waltham Foreclosures Fell In June

Waltham has not had any foreclosure auctions in 2012.

Foreclousre requests in Waltham fell in June as did the number of completed foreclosures, according to newly released data from the Warren Group.

JUNE FIGURES

  • Foreclosure requests fell by 63.64 percent in June from 11 to 4 which mirrors the 29 percent drop statewide.
  • Foreclosure deeds (completed foreclousures) fell by 80 percent from 5 to 1 in line with a 24 percent statewide drop. 
  • No foreclousre auctions have taken place in Waltham this year.

  • To date, foreclosure requests are up by 45.45 percent compared to 32 percent at the same time last year. That figure beats the stateweide increase of 68.6 percent. 
  • To date, foreclosure deeds are down by 23.81 percent from 21 to 16 compared to the same time last year. That's far better than the statewide 18 percent jump.

"It's pretty significant to see foreclosure petitions drop by almost 30 percent from just a month ago," Warren Group CEO Timothy M. Warren Jr. said in a statement. "I believe that an improving economy, more jobs and an active real estate market are having an impact and giving us a moderating trend in foreclosures."
