Waltham Man Scheduled For November Murder Trial

The trial of a Waltham man for killing a Maine woman will begin in November, according to the Franklin Sun Journal.

Juan Contreras, 28, of Waltham,

Contreras has waived his right to a jury trial, which means he will have a bench trial, according to the Franklin Sun Journal. The trial is scheduled to start on the week of Nov. 5. 

Contreras has pleaded not guilty to the charges and plans to claim he was involuntarily intoxicated during the time of the incident, according to the Sun Journal.

Contreras remains in custody.
