Workers Caused Natural Gas Leak, Fire Department Says
The leak occurred at 175 Wyman St. in Waltham.

A construction crew working at 175 Wyman St. caused a natural gas leak earlier today, according to the Waltham Fire Department.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. when authorities received a report of a gas odor at the office complex at 175 Wyman St., according to Waltham Fire Lt. Scott Perry. Firefighters responded and quickly noticed the gas odor.
The leak has now been repaired, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transporation Twitter feed.

Crews evacuated 175 Wyman St. and 188 Wyman St. and moved them to a secure area down the road, Perry said. Gas line crews also responded and bypassed the 8-inch gas main so gas service could continue, but without using the damaged portion of the pipe, Perry said.
Exits 27 A/B of Interstate 95 were also closed, but have reopened, according to the Department of Transportation.
