Police Investigating After Car Found In River At MA Yacht Club

The car was found partially submerged in the river after rolling from the parking lot, fire officials said.

WATERTOWN, MA — Police are investigating after a car was found in the water at the Watertown Yacht Club early Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to the scene around 6:40 a.m. to find the car, which was not occupied, partially submerged in the river after rolling from the parking lot, according to the Watertown Fire Department.

Officials shared a photo of the fire department's marine unit securing the car to be towed.

Located on Charles River Road, the Watertown Yacht Club is located on a bend in the Charles River and sits seven miles up the river from Boston Harbor. It has a marina and club house and offers memberships to anyone 20 years or older, and junior memberships to people ages 12 to 20.
