Popular Watertown Greek Restaurant Closes

The Aegean Restaurant has closed its doors after more than 14 years in business.

A popular Greek restaurant in Watertown has closed its doors.

The Aegean Restaurant is out of business after more than 15 years pleasing diners with its international cuisine, Wicked Local is reporting.

“Unfortunately after 15 great years in the terrific town of Watertown our lease had come to an end in November,” Owner Chris Ntasios said in a statement. “We were attempting to renegotiate a longer lease extension during the year but we were unsuccessful . We then had no other options for that location.”

He also owns the Aegean Restaurant in Framingham, and he says that will remain open.

Chris’ parents, Nicholas Ntasios and his wife Toulos first opened the Aegean Restaurant in Framingham in 1981. The family opened a Watertown location in 2001.

“We are still a family restaurant and hope to continue serving the great patrons of metrowest and beyond,” he said. “We would like to thank the Watertown community for their great support through all these years, uur great staff and local vendors for being part of the Aegean for over 15 years.”
