Watertown Police Log: Shoplifters Try to Hide Items in Strollers, Necklaces Stolen

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Nov. 2, 4:24 a.m.: Police arrested Ruslan A. Frasinescu, 26, of 201 Arsenal St. in Watertown, on charges of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction to a motor vehicle after he kicked a car door and dented it.


Incidents

Nov. 1, 6:27 p.m.: A Center Street resident was having work done to the house and discovered that two necklaces - worth $300 each - were missing from the bureau.

Nov. 2, 3:30 p.m.: Three women pushed baby carriages through Target and were putting items into the strollers. One, a 21-year-old from Brighton, was caught with $34.90 worth of merchandise, the second (age 22 from Brighton) had $342.33 in items, and the third (age 26 from Brighton) had $34.80 in merchandise. All of them were summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

Nov. 3, 9:33 a.m.: A resident of a house on Elm Street where a number of people rent rooms reported that someone forced open the door to his room, but nothing was missing. 

Nov. 3, 5:14 p.m.: A man left his bike outside the library, unlocked, and when he came out it was gone. The bike is described as a black mountain bike with white handles.
